Sring 2011
Spring has sprung here on Vancouver Island. The world is turning green again and things are sprouting out of the ground, days are so much longer, and we're actually seeing the sun again...yay! Gotta love that! It's time to climb out winter hibernation mode and make things happen...
I've been recording new songs with my long time old friend, Ken Patterson along with some super great and super nice musicians: Phil Robertson - Drummer Extrodinaire! Tilden Webb - Keyboard Wizard, Brian Newcombe - Master Bassist, and Ian Putz - Horn player of the Gods.
Right now we're just laying down a bunch of tracks as I've been stock piling tunes for a while now.
I hope to put out another CD by the end of the year, but in the meantime will place some of the new songs on this website.
Happy Spring Beginnings everyone!

October 2010
OK so it's only been 2 years since I updated this Journal. Gosh, that's pretty bad....thought it was about time now.
Much has happened since I started this site. Countless gigs with Cruze Control, we're kinda like family now... so many interesting people I've met.... "Cradle of Secrets" has now been added to various international music compilations... Doors were opened into the wonderful world of music licensing, its good to finally be on the roster... then there was that cool trip to Nashville, I met so many wonderful artists and writers down there and made new friends -their gracious hospitality ... not to mention the Legendary producer "Larry Butler " oops, oh did I mention that? (such a nice man too).
Last but not least I want to thank all those stations who have included "Cradle of Secrets" in their broadcasts, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!!
At present I'm having a great time working on some new recordings with a couple of extremely talented old friends.....exciting things to come!

A secret to happiness
I hadn’t done any recording for a long time. I had been keeping all of these songs bottled up inside of me. I wanted to do something with them but I was always too busy, and kept putting it off till tomorrow, and then the day after, and then the year after, until finally I realized, enough! Just do it now because life is short and very precious.
You know how we all get so caught up in our lives, rushing from one place to the next without taking any time to stop and realize what a miracle it is to even be alive and have the privilege of being here on earth………….
Sometimes when I feel overwhelmed by this hectic, no time to accomplish everything on the list, always late for the next event, too many interruptions kind of life, I know it’s time to stop whatever I’m doing and just breathe……. Swallow a deep, wonderful breath, and take some time to see the world differently. To see that in spite of my humble existence the world keeps turning. To see that, good or bad, this is a pretty amazing place we live in and we’re all part of it and that’s truly our blessing………..
And then all of a sudden, the air feels fresher, the grass looks greener, the chirping of birds, the whisper of the wind, and even the rumble of passing traffic all seem like some comforting voice from heaven. And I want to live, I want to write, I want to sing, I want to share.
This could be the secret to happiness…..
Love your life, love your family, love your neighbor, love the world!

Food for Starfish
My son came home from school the other day with a reading assignment that I think is worthy of sharing. The story goes something like this...
There was a native standing at the waters edge picking up starfish from the beach and tossing them back into the ocean. One by one he gently scooped up each stranded echinoderm, offering them back to the current. On and on, he diligently went about this seemingly futile task until when approached by a passing stranger was asked, "What do you expect to accomplish by throwing a few starfish back into the water when there are so many thousands upon thousands laying on beaches everywhere?"
The native then paused reflectively for a few seconds, picked up another starfish, tossed it far out into broad ocean and replied, "Made a difference to that one!"
